Recurring tasks
Recurring tasks allow you to automate repetitive work on a defined schedule. Instead of manually creating or updating the same task each time, you set it up once and Worklenz handles the rest. This is useful for weekly reports, daily standups, monthly reviews, or any work that repeats on a regular basis.
Supported recurrence options
Worklenz supports the following recurring schedules:
- Daily
- Weekly
- Every X days
- Every X weeks
- Every X months
- Monthly
Configuration types
When setting up a recurring task, you choose how the recurrence behaves. Worklenz supports two configuration types:
Create a new task
A brand new task is created automatically at each recurrence interval. The new task is created using the current task as a template - it carries the same details and is set to the current status at the time of creation.
Use this when you need a fresh task to appear each cycle, such as a weekly report that should be tracked and completed independently each week.
Change task status
The same task has its status changed automatically at each recurrence interval. No new task is created. Instead, you select the status you want the task to be set to repeatedly, and Worklenz resets it to that status on the defined schedule.
Use this when the same ongoing task needs to be reset and re-actioned on a schedule, such as a recurring review task that should return to “In Progress” each Monday.
